Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. the Hon. Peter Phillips, will be travelling to the United States, London, and other European cities next month to meet with several financial institutions.

Information Minister, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, says Cabinet has approved travel for a delegation, led by the Minister, from June 10-20.

“The meetings are to apprise the international capital markets of developments related to the Economic Reform Programme and Growth Agenda, and will involve representatives from investment banks, pension funds and insurance companies,” the Minister said.

Senator Falconer noted that the discussions will include the progress made to date under the Extended Fund Facility with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the recent performance of the Jamaican economy.

The Minister will also articulate the macro economic and fiscal path being pursued to realise economic growth and development, she added.

The delegation will include the Financial Secretary, Devon Rowe, and  Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Brian Wynter.
