Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Hon Audley Shaw, left the island on Wednesday (Sept. 30) for the International Monetary Fund (IMF)/World Bank meetings in Istanbul, Turkey from October 4-7.
While in Istanbul, the Minister is expected to engage in talks with Executives of the IMF including Deputy Managing Director of the Fund, Takatoshi Kato; officials of the World Bank; as well as a number of institutional investors.
Meanwhile, Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Hon Derrick Latibeaudiere, represented Mr. Shaw at the Finance Ministers Meeting in Cyprus yesterday as the Minister was delayed in Jamaica.
Minister Shaw will participate in the Committee Meeting of Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Madrid, Spain on Friday (Oct. 9) before returning to the island on Saturday (Oct. 10).
