The Full Story

The Government has allocated $150 million for the Electronic Land Titling Project, which will continue in the upcoming fiscal year.

The sum is contained in the 2024/25 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.

Implemented by the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, the project aims to improve the efficiency of the land registration process from the point of application through the issuing of legally binding proof of title.

Anticipated physical targets of the project for fiscal year 2024/25 include the finalisation of the award of contract to the vendor selected for the supply of the electronic land titling database/software and the establishment of a project management unit.

The project began in 2021 and is slated to end in March 2027.

Just over $1 billion has been estimated for fiscal year 2025/26, if necessary.
