The Annual Diplomatic Corps Dinner will take place on Thursday (March 13) at King’s House, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
This highly anticipated event, hosted by Their Excellencies, Governor-General, the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen, serves as a distinguished occasion for strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering meaningful international partnerships.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, said that the members of the diplomatic corps look forward to the annual dinner.
“It is the highest level at which they can be received and, therefore, it’s important to their countries as well,” she noted.
She was addressing a recent Think Tank held at the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) Television Department in Kingston.
As a signature event of Diplomatic Week 2025, the dinner will provide a unique platform for bilateral and multilateral discussions among representatives from various nations.
The event offers an opportunity for newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners to engage with Jamaica’s leadership, while also celebrating the enduring relationships between Jamaica and its diplomatic partners.
Diplomatic Week, running from March 10 to 14, 2025 under the theme ‘Building Partnerships for Sustainable Development’, aims to promote collaboration on key issues, including economic growth, trade, climate resilience and cultural exchange.
The series of engagements, including ministerial and agency briefings and policy discussions, reinforces Jamaica’s commitment to global cooperation and sustainable development.
Minister Johnson Smith expressed appreciation to Their Excellencies for “graciously supporting the week in this way, as they always do, and we look forward to enjoying their hospitality as well”.
