Prime Minister Bruce Golding said of the late Parliamentarian, and Cabinet Minister, Donald Buchanan, that “he created a little bit of discomfort sometimes. He did it as someone who was committed to the work and service of this Parliament. He was passionate about his party, as we all know, he was passionate about his beliefs, he was passionate about his country." The late Donald Buchanan was a Cabinet Minister in four People's National Party (PNP) administrations.
Mr. Golding was participating in Parliamentary tributes to the four-term legislator on January 18 where Mr. Buchanan's widow Dorothy and other family members were guests in the Chamber.
Mr. Buchanan will receive an official funeral at St Peter's Pedro Plains on January 21 in his home and former constituency, South West St Elizabeth.
