Bio
Mr. Errol Gardner has over 28 years’ experience in the Public Service. He has been the Director of Corporate Services at the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) since 2009.
He has worked at the Ministry of Finance and PricewaterhouseCoopers in the areas of budgeting and auditing, respectively, as well as the Management Institute for National Development (MIND) as a course facilitator. Mr. Gardner also has several years of supervisory and senior management experience to his credit.
As Director, he has oversight for the Corporate Services, Finance and Office Management Units. He plays the lead role in the preparation of the Agency’s annual Capital Expenditure budget and the analysis of the Agency’s quarterly financial statements.
His skills in project management earned him the role of Team Leader for the relocation of the JIS TV Department project to 5-9 South Odeon Avenue which was completed in 2018. His responsibilities included the management of a budget of approximately $270 million for the refurbishing and acquisition of studio equipment.
He is a member of the Agency’s Procurement Committee and is also the Chairman of its Board of Survey Committee (BOS) which is responsible for the management and disposal of obsolete assets.
Mr. Gardner holds a BSc. in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom (UK), majoring in Finance, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methodology from the Edinburgh Business School in the UK.
He also has specialised skills in adult learning and facilitation and has pursued professional development training courses in corporate planning and project management and evaluation.
