Farmers, served by the New Forest/Duff House Irrigation System in Manchester, are to benefit from improved service.
A $77,316,434 contract has been awarded to Y.P. Seaton and Associates Company Limited for the supply and installation of three irrigation deep well pumps and motors for the system.
Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, made the disclosure during a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, on Wednesday (February 2).
He said the contract also entails the construction of pump houses.
"The project, when completed, will serve 376 farmers on 400 hectares of lands located in Manchester," Minister Vaz said.
