Construction of Clarendon Justice Centre to Commence in Fiscal Year 2025/26

Construction of the Clarendon Justice Centre, for which the Government has allocated $90.54 million, is expected to commence in fiscal year 2025/26, with a targeted 35 per cent completion during the period.
Its establishment is designed to enable the citizens to access Restorative Justice, Child Diversion and Mediation Services.
This is contained in the 2025/26 Estimates of Expenditure, which was tabled in the House of Representatives by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Hon. Fayval Williams, on February 13.
Meanwhile, the Legal Aid Council has been allocated $604.93 million to support costs associated with administering an efficient legal-aid system to improve public access to justice.
Additionally, the Government has allocated $612.1 million under the Rehabilitation, Maintenance and Repairs activity, with a goal to support preventative maintenance and refurbish courthouses.
The provision also includes $400 million from traffic ticketing fines and is reflected as Appropriations In Aid.
