Charity Event for Heart Foundation and Cancer Society Postponed Until Nov. 30

November 2, 2012

The Full Story

Fraser, Fontaine & Kong (FFK) Limited's event, Party for Charity, to benefit the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) and the Jamaica Cancer Society (JCS), which was scheduled for November 2, has been postponed to Friday, November 30, due to the recent passage of Hurricane Sandy.

The event, which is expected to attract some 900 patrons, will take place at FFK's car park, 28 Pawsey Place, New Kingston, from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Tickets are $1,500 pre-sold or $1,700 at the gate and include a meal. Drinks and other refreshments will be available for sale. Persons are advised that tickets bought for November 2 are still valid for the new date.

President of the FFK Limited, Gerard Fontaine, told JIS News that the event is staged annually as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

"We intend to offer approximately $1.5 million to both entities from the event as our way of giving back to Jamaica and supporting the work of two important entities,” the President said.

"These two entities are very dear to our hearts, because we have had a few of our staff members pass away in recent years from cancer illnesses or heart complications, including our late President, Richard Fontaine. So, this is our way of showing that we care and are doing our part to create a better Jamaica,” the President added.

Lucky patrons will win one year free membership from HFJ and JCS; two tickets to the James Bond movie, Sky Fall, and a free mammogram.
