Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information, Dr. Kasan Troupe (right), applauds as the Captain I Can robot engages with schoolchildren at the launch of the Captain I Can School Tour, under the theme 'Drugs and Violence No Way' at the St. Andrew Primary School on May 14. The school tour is an innovative student-focused initiative aimed at fostering resilience, prosocial behaviour and violence prevention in schools through empowerment and education. Spearheaded under the Government of the United Kingdom (UK)-funded Violence Prevention Partnership Programme (VPPP), the tour is a flagship initiative led by the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information in collaboration with the Ministries of National Security and Health and Wellness, and the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ). The initiative supports the Citizen Security Plan and Inter-Ministerial School Support Strategy (IMSS), reinforcing national efforts to create safe and supportive learning environments.
