Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency, Stephen Vasciannie (left), and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Jamaica, in Washington, D.C., Marsha Core Lobban (right), are given details on the collection of Jamaican postcards on display at an exhibition mounted at the Embassy, by Jamaican Speech Pathologist, Marva Shand McIntosh, following the engagement’s opening ceremony on December 3. The exhibition titled: “Greetings from Jamaica, A Country of History in Postcards”, features over 200 authentic postcards dating back to 1877.

Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Noel Arscott (3rd right); Jamaican High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Aloun Ndombet-Assamba (2nd right); and members of the United Kingdom (UK) Diaspora, show off the forehead thermometers valued at nearly $125,000, which have been donated to assist the country’s Ebola preparedness. From left are: Dorothy Turner, Celia Grandison-Markey and Paulette Lewis from the International Healthcare Group UK; and Laval Bent of the Association of Jamaicans UK Trust. The items were presented to Minister Arscott on Wednesday, November 12, during at a brief ceremony at the Jamaican High Commission in London.
