Cabinet Approves Water Resources Authority Board

Cabinet has approved several appointments to the Board of the Water Resources Authority (WRA), which has responsibility for managing the country’s water resources.
Water and Housing Minister, Dr. Horace Chang, who has portfolio responsibility for the WRA, told journalists at Wednesday’s (March 19) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, that the Board was named previously, but that several members nominated were unable to take up their appointments. These persons will now join the rest of the members to bring the Board up to its full complement.
The additional members are: Alexander Williams, attorney-at-law; Dr. Jeffery Williams, medical practitioner; and Cheyanne McLarty, environmental scientist.
Dr. Chang said the other members of the Board are: Chairman, Dr. Parris Lyew-Ayee, Jr., Head of the Mona Infomatics Centre at the University of the West Indies (UWI); Willard Pinnock, Lecturer, UWI; Patrice Blair, student, University of Technology (UTech); Basil Fernandez, Managing Director, WRA, and Donovan Stanberry, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water and Housing.
