Blood Drive at JIS

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS) has partnered with the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), commonly known as the Blood Bank, to host a blood drive on Tuesday, August 24. The blood drive will take place at the JIS’ Head Office, 58a Half-Way Tree Road, Kingston 10 (Corner of Chelsea Avenue), from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Blood Donor Organiser at the NBTS, Mrs. Carol Williams, said she is excited about the blood drive and hopes that persons, not only from the JIS and surrounding companies, but members of the public, will support the venture.
She pointed out that the process is not long, and by donating blood, persons will get to know their blood types as well as get a free blood test.
The Blood Bank is currently in dire need of blood and an invitation is being extended to all persons to come out and support the blood drive.
