EU Encourages Investors to Participate in Jamaica’s Renewable Energy and Digital Projects
Acting Deputy Director General, Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Michelle Edwards (left), accepts a galaxy tablet from Programme Coordinator, International Organization for Migration, Aaliyah Gentles, during the handover of communication products and equipment (tablets and signage) by the IOM on January 24 at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites in Kingston. The products were provided under the IOM’s Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) initiative being implemented under the ‘Strengthening Jamaica’s Disaster Risk Management and Preparedness Capacity’ project. The items are to assist the Government of Jamaica’s preparedness and response efforts, particularly for displaced migrants in emergency events.
