Applications for Scholarship to Study in India Closes Aug. 31

Applications for the Ambassador’s Scholarship Scheme to study in India will close on August 31.

The scheme offers up to 100 per cent scholarship on tuition for 10 eligible Jamaican nationals to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at a university.

The application, which can be made through the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service via its website, is offered by the Chandigarh University in Punjab, India, for the academic year 2024/2025.

The bifurcation of the scholarship slots will be done, where the first five students will be considered under the 50 per cent scholarship on tuition fee only, the next three will be considered under the 75 per cent scholarship on tuition fee only, and the last two will be considered under the 100 per cent scholarship on tuition fee only.

If there are more than 10 students, then the same cycle will continue.

To apply for the scholarship, persons must be a citizen and permanent resident of the country they are applying from, provide their school transcripts of their CSEC and CAPE examinations, graduation certificates, and transcripts for persons who are applying for postgraduate studies, and a copy of their national identification or passport.

All applications must be submitted and all the mandatory fields completed in the application on or before August 31, 2024.

Final selection of the candidates will be made by the university and shall be communicated to the Indian High Commission in Jamaica.

The selected students will be issued with the offer letter and the fee payment invoice where a one-time admission fee of US$300 has to be paid by the selected students for the confirmation of the admission.
