Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Audrey Marks, has expressed appreciation to American gospel singer Pastor Donald McClurkin Jr. and the Perfecting Faith Church, for the provision of medical services, farm supplies and housing support to needy Jamaican families.
Addressing a church service in Freeport, New York, on Sunday (October 27), Ambassador Marks expressed gratitude for the generosity extended to Jamaicans through the Perfecting Faith Church Missions Department following the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
“Many thanks to dentists and nurses who donated their services. The seeds, fruit trees and livestock provided in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl were both timely and greatly appreciated. We are also very appreciative of the homes built, providing well-needed shelter for two needy families.
“I must also applaud this church as you are a church on the move where ministry meets the people. I encourage you to be steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord,” she said.
Pastor McClurkin Jr., in his response, said he was moved to make a contribution because of his love for Jamaica and its culture, noting that one of his albums contains tracks that were inspired by Jamaican gospel songs.
He said he was pleased that the church was able to partner with Food For the Poor to provide a house to a mother of five.
“This is not a small thing and I’m glad to be a part of this. I’m glad that our church, Perfecting Faith Church in New York, could be a part and partner with them and make this happen,” Pastor McClurkin noted.
