$69 Million to Build Early Childhood Institutions

A sum of $69 million will be spent by the Government this year, to construct two early childhood institutions in the parishes of St. Thomas and Kingston and St. Andrew.
Details of the allocation are outlined in the 2015/16 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.
The project, which is being funded by the Chinese Government, will commence in April this year, and is expected to be completed by March 2017.
It aims to increase capacity by creating 400 places for students at the early childhood level at the Tower Hill Infant School, Olympic Way, St. Andrew; and the Morant Estate Infant School in St. Thomas.
