Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller has advised the Governor-General, His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, to issue the necessary Proclamation and notifications in accordance with the Representation of the People Act, for the holding of an election in the constituency of Central Westmoreland to fill the vacancy created by the death of the Honourable Roger Clarke.
In a letter to the Governor-General on Wednesday, November 5, the Prime Minister proposed that Nomination Day be Wednesday, 12th November 2014 and the date of the poll be Monday, 1st December 2014.
