Minister without Portfolio (Sport) Hon. Natalie Neita Headley has congratulated the Jamaica team for its “stunning performance” at the just concluded 43rd CARIFTA Games, held in Martinique.
In a congratulatory message to the team, Minister Neita Headley said: “The latest record-breaking medal performance by our junior athletes at the CARIFTA Games shows the depth of their talent and commitment to cementing Jamaica’s top ranking status in the sport.”
“This stunning performance not only serves to solidify our already rich track record of success at the CARIFTA Games but is excellent preparation for our participation in the Youth Olympics to take place in China later this year. The nation is delighted at the team’s performance and I congratulate everyone for another truly disciplined and outstanding performance,” Minister Neita Headley said.
At the Games, held in Martinique, April 17-20, Jamaica amassed a record tally of 88 medals including 42 gold and 34 silver medals, as it captured the CARIFTA Games winner’s title for the thirtieth consecutive occasion.
