Cabinet has approved a three-year contract in the sum of $44.8 million to Shack Electronics Security Ltd. for the provision of security services at the National Chest Hospital.

The information was provided by Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, at last week’s Jamaica House press briefing.

Under the contract, the company will provide 24-hour security services, including emergency response, personnel, equipment, materials and property at the National Chest Hospital.

The project will be funded from the annual budget of the South East Regional Health Authority.

The National Chest Hospital is a 100-bed facility on Barbican Road, St. Andrew, and is the island’s only specialist hospital providing cardio-thoracic care, treating conditions affecting the lungs, heart and other structures of the chest.
