August 1, 2008The Full Story
Sponsor of the Honey Bun Village of Fun at this year’s Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show, Honey Bun Limited, is promising a wide array of exciting and interactive fun activities to hold the interest of the many families that will attend the show from August 1 to 3.
This year’s staging of the show, to be held on the Denbigh Show Grounds in May Pen, Clarendon, is expected to attract in excess of 35,000 children.
Speaking with JIS News, Honey Bun’ Sales and Marketing Manager, Crystal Chung said: “The Honey Bun Fun Village does not just target children, but parents as well, because we hope to engage the participation of the entire family.”
Explaining Honey Bun’s involvement in this initiative, she explained that Honey Bun is a family oriented organisation and “we wanted to provide a wholesome package that caters to the entire family,” reinforcing Honey Bun’s overall aim of creating an environment that provides a place of excitement, safety, positive interaction and togetherness.
The Honey Bun Fun Village will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily and will feature a stage show area and a picnic centre for patrons to purchase light snacks.
One of the main features of the Village, will be the half-hourly Honey Bun Olympics, where parents and children will vie for prizes and surprises in Honey Bun branded games and activities. These include the Honey Bun Hopscotch, Hoopla, Bingo, Lime and Spoon race, Three Legged race, Raisin Bread Relay and other exciting games. Prizes will include stationery and other school supplies, which Miss Chung said were chosen as tokens to assist in offsetting back-to-school expenses usually incurred around this period.
Young and adventurous patrons can also look forward to exciting Honey Bun rides, such as the Flying Helicopters, Rock Climbers, Electric See-Saw, the Centipede Train, Bounce-abouts, Velcro Wall, and the ever popular Merry-Go- Round. Thrilling performances by clowns, acrobats and balloon benders, as well as Face Painting and balloon blasts are also part of the entertainment package. Popular Jamaican Comedienne, Elva Ruddock, will take the helm as Master of Ceremonies for the daily performance shows.
The Denbigh show is a collaborative effort of the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) and the Ministry of Agriculture. Admissions are Adults, $600 and Children, $300.
