Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, says S Hotel has once again demonstrated its reputation as a premier global resort, securing top ranking in the 2024 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards.

The Montego Bay, St. James-based property was ranked number one for All-Inclusive Hotels in Jamaica, number two in the Caribbean, and number 11 worldwide

Minister Bartlett, who is currently on official business overseas, told JIS News said the hotel continues to “shine as a winner in every sense, setting a stellar example for the Jamaican hospitality industry.”.

He said the Best of the Best Awards represent the latest accolades underscoring S Hotel’s commitment to excellence, citing the Condé Nast Johansens 2024 Award for Excellence as the best Waterside Hotel in North America, and recognition as one of the Top 25 Boutique Hotels in the World by Hotels Above Par.

“Additionally, the hotel was named the number-one Best Hotel in the Caribbean & Central America in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2024, and the number-one All-Inclusive Resort in the Caribbean by USA TODAY’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice,” Mr. Bartlett said.

He expressed his admiration for the management team’s dedication to excellence, noting that “this remarkable streak of awards is a testament to the visionary leadership and strong commitment of the S Hotel team”.

“Their consistent efforts in grooming an exceptional staff, fostering authentic Jamaican hospitality, and maintaining high standards of service are truly commendable. They continue to make Jamaica proud on the world stage,” he added.

He emphasised the importance of the achievements in boosting Jamaica’s global reputation and attracting more visitors to the island.

“When our hotels are recognised internationally for their quality and innovation, it reinforces Jamaica’s position as a premier travel destination. S Hotel’s success is a shining example of the potential within our local hospitality industry,” the Minister said.

For her part, General Manager of S Hotel Montego Bay, Ann-Marie Goffe-Pryce, said the recognition “affirms that Jamaica’s hospitality industry is not only resilient but also poised for even greater achievements. We will continue to support and promote our local brands as they elevate our nation’s reputation worldwide”.

She noted that the hotel’s staff embodies Jamaica’s vibrant culture and hospitality, creating memorable experiences that keep visitors returning.

“Our team is our greatest asset, and we take pride in grooming a staff that exemplifies professionalism, friendliness, and cultural authenticity,” she added.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Hon. Delano Seiveright, for his part, noted that “the success of S Hotel Montego Bay and also its other property in Kingston signals a new era of Jamaican-owned brands making a significant impact on the global stage”.

“These hotels exemplify a blend of luxury, cultural richness, and innovative service that sets Jamaica apart as a top-tier travel destination,” he added.
