Public Order and Security Maintained During Tropical Storm Rafael

Police Superintendent, Michael Morris, says the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has ensured public order and security during the passage of Tropical Storm Rafael.
Speaking with JIS News at the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) in Kingston on Tuesday (November 5), he informed that, “we have had very few reports of crime over the past 12 hours.”
Superintendent Morris noted that the police have been working with all stakeholders, “to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens”, while pointing out that resources have been deployed across the country according to the need.
“We have been maintaining public order and security. We have also been assisting with the evacuation and helping with the management of some of [the emergency] shelters,” he indicated.
“We have been doing a very good job, and we continue to work with our various partners to ensure that we get through this very difficult period,” Superintendent Morris added.
He assured that the JCF will continue to focus efforts in areas that are prone to flooding.
