The ceremonial opening of parliament on Thursday, February 15, marked the formal start of the 2024–2025 legislative year and as usual Governor General Sir Patrick Allen delivered the Throne Speech, outlining a number of programmes and policies to be pursued by the Government in the new fiscal year, which commences on April 1.
