Housing Agency of Jamaica Handing Over of Catherine Estate Catherine Estates (Bernard Lodge Estate) was originally planned in 2012 as a lower-income housing development in collaboration with a private partner. HAJ obtained Environmental Permits and other regulatory approvals and proceeded to commence construction and pre-sales of the units in 2013. Shortly thereafter, HAJ discontinued its partnership with the then Joint Venture Partner and went back to the drawing board to revamp the project design to include a more comprehensive drainage plan, increase the number of solutions and identify a new partner. HAJ is now pleased to partner with the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) to deliver Catherine Estates.
Catherine Estates is intended to create an integrated, sustainable community with the provision of 1650 housing solutions. Lot sizes will range from 223 square metres (2,400sq. ft.) to 260 square metres (2,800sq.ft.), each housing unit will be configured for easy upward and outward expansion
