The Full Story

The National Council for Senior Citizens (NCSC) continues to give individuals an opportunity to pursue computer courses, and to obtain certificates in other educational programmes.
On November 18 the branch of the NCSC in St. Ann, in collaboration with Sandals Dunn’s River Hotel and the St. Ann Parish Library, will be hosting a graduation and awards ceremony for 53 Seniors and Volunteers who have completed a six-week Hospitality Course and an eight-week Computer Course.
Parish Organizer for Senior Citizens’ Clubs in St. Ann and Trelawny, Carmen Wilson told JIS News that the programmes for the elderly have been well supported by Sandals and the St. Ann Parish Library, as well as other interest groups in the parish.
“As a result of the success of the programmes, the NCSC has been getting a number of requests from individuals in St. Ann,” she said.
The graduation ceremony will be held at the Northview Church of Christ in St. Ann’s Bay, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Guest Speaker at the event will be Dr. Denise Eldemire-Shearer, Chairman for the NCSC.
