The Full Story

Cabinet has approved the purchase of a $104.5 million property by the HEART Trust/NTA and the Overseas Examination Commission (OEC), from the Urban Development Corporation (UDC).

The property, which is unoccupied, will provide a collaborative multi-purpose training centre to house the HEART Trust/NTA’s Work Force College, and data processing operations for the OEC.

The centre will also house workforce training facilities for the Logistics Hub Initiative, which is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.

Speaking to journalists at Thursday’s (June 6) Jamaica House press briefing, held at the Office of the Prime Minister, Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, said the acquisition of the property, which is located in downtown Kingston, is in keeping with the Government’s thrust to revitalise the area as well as to stimulate economic growth.
