A state of public emergency was on Sunday declared for the St. Andrew South Police Division. Prime Minister Andrew Holness notes that approximately 70 per cent of homicides in the division have been as a result of criminal activity, while another 30 per cent relate to inter personal conflicts such as domestic violence.
