Prime Minister Bruce Golding expresses condolences to people of Colombia

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has expressed his condolences to President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon and the people of Colombia on the loss of lives and the damage to homes and property caused by the mudslides in a Medellin suburb in Colombia.
Mr. Golding also expressed his gratitude for the lives saved and hoped for the continued safety of the rescue workers as they continued the frantic search for persons trapped under the mudslides. The Prime Minister noted the comments in the Media by President Santos that this was the worst natural disaster to have affected his country and pledged that Jamaica would do what it could to assist the Colombian people.
President Santos paid a State visit to Jamaica last month.
