The Customs (Amendment) Act, which seeks to facilitate the implementation of best practices and standards by the Jamaica Customs Agency, is before a Joint Select Committee of Parliament for consideration.The Bill seeks to provide for the establishment of a framework for the efficient movement of goods through the ports, in anticipation of a logistics-centred Jamaican economy.Commissioner of Customs Major Richard Reese recently sat down with Ian Boyne to discuss matters concerning the Bill.
