The Full Story

The Ministry of Education and Youth is reporting that 30,302 students who sat the 2024 Primary Exit Profile (PEP) have been placed in one of their preferred schools.

The number represents 86.7 per cent of students, said Portfolio Minister, Hon. Fayval Williams.

She was addressing a press conference at the Ministry in Kingston on Friday (June 21) to announce the results of the assessment.

The Minister said 3,928 students were placed in secondary schools that are in proximity to the institutions they currently attend. In addition, only 340 students were placed manually.

“That’s the lowest we have seen, if you look back at the numbers for 2021, 2022 and 2023,” Mrs. Williams pointed out.

The PEP results will be available for access at www.dpisonline.com from noon on June 21.

Parents and guardians may also contact their children’s schools for placement information.
