Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, has announced the allocation of $762 million for river training, drain and gully cleaning, and drainage improvement initiatives across the country.

Speaking in the 2024/25 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on March 21, Mr. Holness said that given the “pressing threats” posed by climate change, the activities will serve as disaster mitigation works.

Meanwhile, he noted that work on three bridges will be prioritised in the new fiscal year.

These are Troy in Trelawny, Craig Mill in Portland, and Spring Village in St. Catherine.
