Some 70 graduands will receive Post Graduate Diplomas, Associate Degrees, Diplomas and Special Certificates of Achievement from the Management Institute for National Development (MIND), at its annual graduation ceremony to be held on Saturday, December 9.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Youth and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the institute, Maria Jones, will be the guest speaker at the event, which will convene at MIND’s Hope Road Campus, commencing at 4:00 p.m.
The graduating class comprises persons who have completed the Post Graduate Diploma in General Management, Associate Degree in Management Studies (via MIND online), Accounting, and Human Resource Management as well as persons who completed Diploma Courses in Human Resource Management, Government Accounting Level 3, and Certificate in Administrative Management Level 4.
The institute will also issue Special Certificates of Achievement to students who participated in the Certificate in Management Studies, and the Certificate in Public Administration programmes. These programmes are offered by MIND through an on-going collaboration with the University of the West Indies, Mona.
Throughout its existence and moreso since it became an Executive Agency in 1999, MIND has been a key player in public sector training. While it carries out this function, it also serves the private sector and non-governmental organisations.
With accreditation from the University Council of Jamaica, the institute delivers courses from its campuses in Kingston and Mandeville, and via the internet through MIND online. The agency has also been successfully involved in customising courses for organisations, both locally and regionally.
The institute has maintained a high rate of client satisfaction, and as it continues in its process of modernisation, remains committed to developing and delivering affordable training programmes, to both public and private sector agencies.
