20,000 Tonnes of Cement Available this Week

Approximately 20,000 tonnes of cement from the Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL) will be available this week.
This is the word from the Ministry of Industry, Technology, Energy and Commerce (MITEC), in conjunction with the Incorporated Master Builders Association, the Hardware Merchants Association, and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce.
At a joint meeting at the Ministry today (July 31), the entities reported that last week the cement company sold 19,280 tonnes of cement, with 5,503 being bulk, 1,017 in jumbo bags and the remainder equalling 299,258 bags.
ARC Systems also reported that it sold 3,500 tonnes of cement last week.
The Caribbean Cement Company Limited reported that year-to-date sales amounted to 528,000 tonnes, up from 516,000 tonnes for the similar period last year.
