The Full Story

A total of 140 supplier companies and 20 tourism entities will participate in this year’s annual speed networking event.

The event, hosted by the Tourism Linkages Network, a division of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF), is slated for the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St. James on Thursday (March 13), beginning 9:00 a.m.

It will feature a series of 15-minute pre-scheduled meeting appointments between managing directors, general managers and chief executive officers of local supplier companies of products/services and owners/managers of properties, restaurants, attractions and other tourism entities throughout the day.

Representatives of the Jamaica Centre of Tourism Innovation (JCTI) will also be present to engage with human resource managers and discuss the various training opportunities available for individuals working in the industry.

The speed networking event will include an opening ceremony during which Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, will deliver the main address.

The initiative, which is in its 10th year, has benefited several small and medium-sized tourism enterprises, providing exposure for their businesses and opportunities to secure contracts.

It involves partnerships with the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA), Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO).
