Hundreds of performers are gearing up for the Independence Gala this year, not in Kingston, but in Montego Bay. And while the annual Grand Gala celebrations are still scheduled for Independence Day at the National Stadium, Western Jamaica will not be outdone, with their own event on August 4. Culture Minister, Olivia Grange says the events at the National Stadium and the National Arena will by and large be replicated in the west.
