The 2023 Jamaica Violence Against Children Survey results showed that more than three in four children between the age of 13 (and) 24 experienced some form of violence during their lifetime.
Physical violence is prevalent among 13-24-year-olds: and boys face the brunt of it: three in five males in the age group have experienced physical violence during their lifetime and 1-in-4 males have carried a weapon for protection against attacks by other people.
