In the environment corner this week…Jamaica eyes the Carbon market

Too many children don’t have their father’s name on their birth certificate. That’s the word from Estate Administration Executive at the Administrator General’s Department, Ingrid Cole, who adds that this situation has left many children at risk of not inheriting any of their father’s assets after their father dies.

The new, 24-hour, toll-free, 2-1-1 child abuse and neglect hotline was officially launched on September 22 as a collaborative effort between the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information.
