Children at the Boys Town Infant and Primary School in Trench Town will return to colourful, freshly painted classrooms in September, thanks to the CB Facey Foundation. The organization, which is the charitable arm of Pan-Jamaican Investment Trust Limited, has joined with the Jamaica Property Company Limited, to paint and refurbish sections of the school.

Children in several communities in rural St. Catherine have benefitted from the distribution of back to school supplies provided by a United States-based, non-profit organization. Nita’s Kids Foundation, founded in 2013, distributed about 500 packages to students at a fair held in the rural community of Top Mountain recently. Nine children from schools in St. Catherine have received assistance in their back to school preparations. The Poverty Alleviation and Empowerment Foundation (PAEF) has issued grants to the children, seven of whom will be entering high school in September.
