The Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) is calling all livestock farmers in Santa Cruz and surrounding areas to attend a Pop-Up Livestock Clinic at its St. Elizabeth Parish Office, 63 Coke Drive, on Wednesday (November 12).
Speaking with JIS News, Livestock Specialist at RADA, Maxine Brown, said that activities will begin 10:00 a.m.
“What we’ll be doing is working with the stakeholders to perform on-the-spot livestock health checks, deworming and vaccination guidance, provide feed advice, tips on improving herd health and flock productivity and information on animal disease prevention and control,” she said.
For livestock owners who are unable to take their animals, Ms. Brown told JIS News that they can still benefit from expert advice based on their needs.
“You can speak to the veterinarian to see what assistance they can give you and what products they may have that you can use to make the animals healthy as we continue to recover from the hurricane,” she said.
Stakeholders include the Ministry of Health and Wellness; the Veterinary Services Division (VSD) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining; Nutramix; Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA), and Baruch Distributors.
