The Full Story

The public is being invited to nominate outstanding businesses for the Jamaica Customer Service Association (JaCSA)/Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Excellence in Service Awards.

Submission of entries opened on August 29 and closes September 12, 2020. The virtual awards ceremony will be held on October 8.

All public and private-sector entities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and entrepreneurs are eligible.

To submit nominations, members of the public are invited to like the Excellence in Service Awards post on the JaCSA Facebook or Instagram pages, send a direct message indicating the name of the entity being nominated and cite reasons why the nominee should be selected for the award.

Prizes include certificates and trophies for outstanding business operators.

The annual awards programme is designed to recognise companies, small business operators, and entrepreneurs who have been consistently delivering excellent customer service.

JaCSA member and Managing Director, Business Development and Marketing Services (BDMS) Solutions, Ixes-Roy Thomas, told JIS News the event holds special meaning this year, as it seeks to award those business operators who are delivering innovate products and services in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Nominees will be assessed based on how they have employed new and creative ways of serving customers; level of cleanliness and safety protocols; timely, clear and concise communication in its public relations activities; among other things.

“Persons have started doing business in a different way to try to connect with their customers. We want to encourage Jamaicans to nominate the persons who they feel have done great in doing things differently to accommodate their clients,” Mr. Thomas said.

He told JIS News that this is the first year that members of the public have been invited to submit nominations.

“We are asking Jamaicans to submit their nominations. We want to recognise not just large entities; we want everybody – large companies, medium-sized and small companies and even entrepreneurs and individuals,” he said.

The JaCSA/PSOJ Excellence in Service Awards is part of activities to observe National Customer Service Week 2020 from October 4 to 9 under the theme ‘Customer Service a Fi Wi Business, Big and Small Serving All’.
