PHOTOS: Education Ministry Receives $3.2 Million from Access Financial Services

Deputy Chief Education Officer for Core Curriculum and Support Services, Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information, Winnie Berry (right), receives a cheque for $3.2 million from Access Financial Services (AFS) Limited, in support of the national literacy initiative. The presentation took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Kingston on Friday (March 7). Making the presentation (from left) are Marketing and Communications Manager at AFS, Nicholas Mundell, and the entity’s Chief Executive Officer, Hugh Campbell. Assistant Chief Education Officer in the Media Services Unit at the Ministry, Nadine Simms (centre); and Director of the Donor & Partnership Management Unit at the National Education Trust (NET), Keisha Johnson, also shared in the occasion. The funds will provide books for 165 primary schools in Manchester and St. Elizabeth under AFS’ 'Access for a Brighter Tomorrow ' programme.
