Montego Bay

jis departments

The Montego Bay Office is seen as a “super” office in the western end of the island. The office is responsible for providing communication products and services to the following six parishes: St. Ann, Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland and St Elizabeth.

This office disseminates information on the GOJ’s policies, programmes and institutions to areas of Jamaica where public access to communication facilities and the media may be limited. It also hosts Government-related events and provides text as well as photographic, sound and video material for the Television and Radio Departments to use in their outputs.

The Department also provides a range of core and revenue generating services to its valued clients. The public address system and town crier services are the chief income earners for this department.
