Stay Alert Application

The Full Story

The Ministry of National Security has launched a mobile application known as ‘Stay Alert’. The application allows citizens to contact the police for assistance. All information sent through the “Stay Alert” app is anonymous.

The application has four main sections: ‘Panic Mode’, ‘Alerts’, ‘Report’ and ‘The Law’.
• Panic Mode allows persons in distress to alert the security services directly and report incidents quickly.
• Alerts allows persons to view current information from the police which includes latest news, tips, updates and other information.
• The Law gives a summary of Jamaican laws and updates as they are published.
• The Report function allows citizens to send information to the police in the form of text, video and photographs.
The police is encouraging Jamaicans to download the Security Alert App from the Google Play Store.
