Get the Facts – Road and Traffic Changes for the 2019/2020 School Year

In preparation for the start of the 2019/2020 school year on September 2 the National Works Agency (NWA) has accelerated the pace of its roadworks in several locations across the Corporate Area and St. Catherine.
Areas along which construction activities have been ramped up include Constant Spring Road, Hagley Park Road, Barbican Road, and Camp Road in the Corporate Area and Port Henderson Road in St. Catherine.
Roadways which had been closed for major renovations and are to be reopened to motorists come September 2 include:
– Manor Park to West King’s House Road, St. Andrew and
– Hagley Park Road, St. Andrew
The two newly constructed overpass bridges at Portia Simpson Miller Square (Three Miles) in St. Andrew will also be put into service. These are:
– Marcus Garvey Drive to Half-Way-Tree
– Spanish Town Road to downtown Kingston
The NWA will also install traffic lights at the following locations:
– Cassava Piece Road, St. Andrew
– Mannings Hill Road, St. Andrew
– Hillman Road, St. Andrew
– Keesing Avenue, St. Andrew
– Omara Road, St. Andrew
– Three Miles, St. Andrew
– Acadia Drive, Barbican, St. Andrew
– Germaine Road, Portmore, St. Catherine
– Pepperwood, Portmore, St. Catherine
– Naggo Head/ Newlands intersection, Portmore, St. Catherine
