Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Hon. Horace Dalley, will deliver the keynote address at the second annual Gaming Industry Summit, scheduled for June 18 at the Jamaica Conference Centre, in downtown Kingston.

Mr. Dalley is expected to address some 400 local and international experts and key stakeholders in the industry on the topic: ‘Facing the challenges, navigating the future’.

Organized by the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC), the summit is expected to run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is free to the public.

Several international industry experts have been confirmed for the summit to speak on a number of issues in the gaming industry.

These include the United Kingdom based Gaming Consultant, Christina Thakor-Rankin, who will speak on the future of mobile betting; Principal Consultant of Gaming Associates in Australia, Alan Pedley, discussing the 5Ws of Due Diligence; and President of the Association of Racing Commissioners in the USA, Edward Martin, who will look at ways to revive the horseracing industry.

Presentations will also be made by local industry experts, including Chief Technical Director of the Financial Investigations Division in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Robin Sykes, who will discuss: ‘Some selected money Laundering typologies in the Gaming Industry’.

Other local presentations will include: ‘Practical methods for implementation of Responsible Gaming’ by the Project Coordinator and Counselor of RISE Life Management Services, Richard Henry.

The BGLC says it will use the summit to explore solutions for issues in the industry and provide answers to some concerns by its stakeholders.
