Same Day Processing of Driver’s Licence on Hold

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that it continues to experience technical issues affecting the the processing of same day drivers licence. This disruption follows a recent scheduled maintenance activity that has impacted all Tax Offices, affecting Driver’s Licences both new and renewals. All other services including the payment of taxes and other related motor vehicle transactions remains available.
Motorists are advised that they must submit a completed driver’s licence application and an uncertified passport size photograph along with their receipt for payment whether done in one of the tax offices or online, in order to facilitate the processing of the Driver’s Licence. During this time, motorists are permitted to operate a motor vehicle, using the receipt and the expired driver’s licence for up to 60 days. TAJ will notify customers when their printed Driver’s Licence is ready to be collected.
TAJ is assuring the public that a dedicated team is actively working to have the matter resolved and to restore full service in the shortest possible time.
