The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has rescheduled its Electricity Disaster Fund (EDF) webinar to Friday (November 8) at 11:00 a.m.
The event, originally slated for November 5, was postponed due to Tropical Storm Rafael.
Public Education Specialist at the OUR, Elizabeth Bennett Marsh, said the session aims to heighten awareness among consumers, stakeholders in the power sector and the wider public about the work of the 24-year-old facility.
Participants will also gain insights into the purpose and operations of the Fund, how it benefits stakeholders and the OUR’s monitoring role.
“This is a very important issue and we always say that an informed consumer is a very, very powerful one. We want consumers to be informed; we want consumers to be aware of all the facts,” Mrs. Bennett Marsh said.
Interested individuals are being reminded that they can participate in the webinar by logging on to the OUR’s Instagram, Facebook and YouTube social media platforms.
Those unable to attend the livestream can view the session later at the OUR Jamaica Hub on the agency’s YouTube page.
Additional information about the EDF and the webinar can be accessed on OUR’s website at our.org.jm.
