By: , May 10, 2024

The Full Story

The National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL) is now accepting applications for a range of short courses during the first quarter of the 2024/2025 financial year.

The courses, which are designed to enhance leadership capabilities in schools, include Leadership and School Policy (LSP), Child-Friendly School Programme (CFS), and Leadership for Safer Schools (LSS).

The Ministry of Education and Youth, in a bulletin, said that the courses are being offered free of cost and are asynchronous, ensuring flexibility for participants to engage with the material at their own pace.

Interested individuals are being encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills.

NCEL is requesting the cooperation of stakeholders in identifying and recommending potential educational leaders who could benefit from these courses.

The application deadline for the first-quarter courses is May 10, 2024, and interested persons are invited to submit their applications online by visiting the official NCEL website at https://ncel.gov.jm/.

For further inquiries or assistance, individuals can contact NCEL directly at 876-967-7867 or visit the official website (https://ncel.gov.jm/).

An agency under the Ministry of Education and Youth, NCEL was established in 2011 to equip school administrators with the requisite competencies to ensure that schools operate effectively in an increasingly demanding environment.

To fulfil its mandate, the college provides continuous professional development to leaders across the education sector, to build on existing competencies and keeping them abreast of emerging practices and trends.
