Our heritage is one of the most crucial parts of our identity as Jamaicans. Heritage celebrations help to preserve this identity and our culture, which sets us apart from all other countries.
National Heritage Week is observed annually during the week leading up to the third Monday in October, National Heroes Day.
Several activities are planned for the week. These include:
Heritage Week Church Service: The event will be broadcast on Jamaica Information Service (JIS) social media pages (Facebook and Twitter).
Salute to Our National Heroes (Wreath Laying Ceremony) and virtual Ceremony of Investiture and Presentation of National Awards on Heroes’ Day. This will be broadcast on the JIS social media pages.
